Dark Season

Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Dark Season was formed in 2002, by Artax and Mizar. 2003 was a very important year for the band, at the beginning of that year, the band self-produced its first single "To Rise Again", which included the tracks "From the Grave" and "Dream". At the end of 2003, Dark Season went to Boom Room Studio's in Wels (Austria) and produced a new EP, "Dark Season". This first work has been promoted by the band through some gigs in Italy and Austria.

A revolution for the band occurred in the year 2007, as the keyboard player Cephei joined the band. This new addition gave a more electronic influence to Dark Season’s heavy/thrash/black music. After this alteration, the band reached complete stability only when the original members Artax and Mizar united their forces with Zaurak (vocals), Regulus (drums) and Neshmet (Guitar). This Line-Up produced and released the first Dark Season album "Cruel Domination" in the year 2010.

In the year 2011 Antares, the new vocalist, joined the band, and now Dark Season are ready for new live shows with new songs.

How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?

When it was formed in the year 2002, the Band used to play gothic/black metal. Since the beginning the Band has constantly evolved both musically and conceptually. Today -10 years later- we play melodic extreme metal. Now Dark Season is full of energy as never before and we want to make music and create it mixing different styles: from heavy/thrash to black/death!

The bands which influenced our music are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Anthrax, In Flames, Arch Enemy and Nevermore.

Why should a metalhead buy your demos/albums?

Our music can appeal to every Metal fan, from classic to modern and extreme metalheads. If you like metal music, we think we are the right band for you!

What have you released so far and how were your releases received by the public/media?

Up to now, we have released two EPs, one full-album and our new EP is under construction.

The reaction of the fans during our concerts was positive, and we received a lot of good reviews from webzines and fanzines.

Do you play live as well? How's your live activity so far?

Recently, we did some concerts and another two live-dates are scheduled in the near future.

After the release of our new EP, we hope we’ll have the opportunity to promote it with many new live dates!

What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?

Currently, we have signed a contract with Music Solutions Agency, with whom we are collaborating this year. In addition to reviews, we did some interviews and our music is played a lot on web radio on heavy rotation.

We offer a original sound , mixing the classic Metal sound with some modern influences, industrial and electro. And.. we are nice and funny!

What plans do you have for the near future as a band?

We are preparing to go into the recording studio again, for a EP comprising 4 new songs.

After the release of this new Dark Season EP, we hope to promote it with many new live dates, in Italy and... in foreign Lands!
