1. Start off by introducing yourself and what is your role in your band?

Hi everyone! My name is Aleister, guitarist, vocalist and founding member of FAUST.

2. Tell me a little about the other members of the band? And do any of you play in other bands?

I’ve played as live session guitarist in Ancient since 2001. Emi, the bassist, also plays in Illogicist. Izio, the other guitarist, also plays in THC.

3. Tell me a little about the releases you have and where they are available for purchase?

“From Glory To Infinity”, 2009: full length recorded with Steve DiGiorgio on bass and Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski on drums. “…And finally FAUST!”, 2001: mcd. “FAUST”, 1993: demo. All FAUST releases can be found at: www.deathmetal.it

4. Tell us about some of the best tours/live performances you have had.

We are waiting for the next one; I’ll let you know.

5. Do you have any amusing stories from when you recorded your album or when you where on the road?

Everyone can have amusing stories spending hours in studio or days on the road with the same people. It’s important to work hard for a great result, but having fun at the same time.

6. Name some of the bands that have influenced your playing style and then name some of the bands that people think influenced you but didn’t?

My influences resides in everything I used to listen to. About Metal, few bands of the eighties and early nineties. It happened that some “reviewers” compared us to Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Malevolent Creation… (???).

7. Are you working on any new material? Can we expect a new release from you in the near future?

The second album has already been written. Hope to record and release it soon.

8. What are some of your all time favorite albums?

Regarding Death Metal: “Blessed Are The Sick” of Morbid Angel, “Human” of Death, “Testimony Of The Ancients” of Pestilence.

9. Name some of the all time worst or overated Metal albums in your opinion?

There are too many bad and/or overrated albums, most of them released in this new millennium. And a lot of overrated bands too.

10. Let everyone know what the band has planned for the future.

On November the 19th FAUST will play at the Italian date of DTA Tour, with Death and Obscura. 

Then the recordings of the new album.

I Perceverance sono una band thrash metal savonese formatasi inizialmente nel 2008 con il nome Steelchains. Nel 2011 la band pubblica il suo primo EP, "Persistence in Time" e, dopo una serie di cambiamenti all'interno della line-up, pubblica nel 2013 questo primo full length, "The Dark Mechanism". Le influenze sono più che evidenti: siamo davanti a 10 tracce di puro thrash metal old school che subito vado ad analizzare. "Prepotence" irrompe come un ariete nelle orecchie dell'ascoltatore: riff che più thrash metal di così si muore, e sezione ritmica che non fa prigionieri. "Hatebringer" si mantiene sulle stesse coordinate dell'opener e, pur non avendo lo stesso impatto sonoro, si dimostra comunque godibile. "Trapped in a Corner" convince meno rispetto alle precedenti, forse a causa di una struttura leggermente ripetitiva. "Mentally Dead" è forse il brano più sabbathiano del disco e, da grande estimatore del leggendario gruppo di Birmingham, non posso che apprezzarlo. Arriviamo ad ascoltare una delle composizioni più personali della band, "Purity", che, pur rimanendo fedele al sound che caratterizza tutto l'album, viene "contagiata" da sonorità più vicine all'hard rock. "Speed That Kills", introdotta da un dolce arpeggio, sfocia inevitabilmente in uno degli episodi più violenti della tracklist. "Into the Void" è, per chi scrive, la top-track di questo lavoro, semplicemente stupenda. "Persistence in Time" non è da meno: bellissimo il ritornello. "Cronos" è una piacevole strumentale che evidenzia un songwriting di alto livello, grande prova di tutti i musicisti. Chiude l'album la title-track, altra canzone molto violenta, il cui testo si dimostra, purtroppo, molto vicino alla realtà. Per concludere, siamo davanti a un ottimo esordio caratterizzato da un gran lavoro di produzione (cosa che non tutti i dischi autoprodotti possono offrire) e da 10 brani che, pur non essendo il massimo dell'originalità, rappresentano il thrash nella sua forma più pura. Inoltre, brani come "Purity" e "Cronos" dimostrano che la band può anche offrire all'ascoltatore qualcosa di più personale ed elaborato, e fanno quindi ben sperare per il prossimo lavoro in studio. 4/5 Leonardo Bacchiocchi

Dopo il demo “Persistence in Time” datato 2011, i Perceverance (provenienti da Savona) esordiscono con “The Dark Mechanism”: speed thrash metal tipico degli anni ottanta – primi anni novanta che si fa apprezzare sin dal primo passaggio.

1.    Ciao ragazzi, benvenuti sulle pagine del blog di Eraskor.com
Ciao ragazzi! Grazie a voi per questa intervista!

2.    Iniziamo dalla vostra storia, siete nati sotto il nome Steelchains, successivamente cambiato in Perceverance. Nonostante la band ha avuto parecchi cambi in formazione oggi sembra aver raggiunto la sua stabilità, giusto?
Si esattamente! Formalmente la band esiste fin dal 2008 ma per vari motivi la line up ha visto diversi cambiamenti nel corso degli anni e sono rimasto l’unico membro originale, con l’ingresso dei membri attuali si è creata immediatamente la giusta sinergia, complice anche l’amicizia che c’è tra di noi.






3.    Prima di addentrarci in questo esordio discografico autoprodotto vi chiedo di spendere due parole sul demo Persisistence in Time, quali tracks appartenenti al demo troviamo in TDM e come mai la scelta di un titolo quasi identico al famoso album degli Anthrax?
Vedi, la registrazione di “ Persistence In Time” è avvenuta in un periodo abbastanza complicato per noi: la formazione era smembrata e ci trovavamo mutilati del batterista ma abbiamo deciso di portare comunque a termine i lavori. In esso sono contenute le nostre prime tre composizioni più una cover dei Threnodial; con l’ingresso dei membri attuali il nostro modo di comporre si è orientato di più verso la vecchia scuola del thrash metal, indi per cui su “The Dark Mechanism” sono presenti solo brani inediti non contenuti nella demo. Per quanto riguarda il titolo “Persistence In Time”, che è anche il titolo della canzone che segna il collegamento fra la demo ed il disco, simboleggia semplicemente la voglia di portare avanti la nostra musica nonostante i periodi difficili.

4.    Il vostro speed thrash metal è ben confezionato: veloce, adrenalinico e spaccaossa, rimembra il passato e il presente grazie ad una registrazione che fa da ponte tra queste decadi, siete d’accordo con la mia opinione?
Sicuramente si! Hai centrato perfettamente la nostra idea di proporre la nostra musica. Fin dai tempi delle registrazioni di “Persistence In Time” ci siamo voluti muovere senza fretta e curando ogni fase della produzione in ogni dettaglio, in modo tale da far uscire dischi che potessero essere competitivi. Nella nostra musica è sempre presente la voglia di coniugare la lezione del passato con le sonorità moderne e per “The Dark Mechanism” abbiamo mirato a questo scopo. Per entrambe le pubblicazioni ci siamo rivolti al nostro amico Gianluca Tamburini di Eleven Studio, che a mio giudizio ha saputo perfettamente far uscire uscire i nostri pezzi al meglio.

5.    Quali sono le tematiche trattate nei vostri testi? Chi è la penna del gruppo e cosa funge da ispirazione?
La penna principale dei testi sono sempre stato io fin dagli esordi ma la composizione avviene comunque in maniera abbastanza collettiva; le liriche dei testi hanno tematiche abbastanza ampie, si parla dal classico trend del thrash metal tutto birra e grinta di “ Speed That Kills” al contesto sociale di “The Dark Mechanism” fino all’introspezione di “Into The Void”. L’ispirazione la trovo principalmente nella realtà quotidiana in tutta la sua completezza, ogni giorno infatti mi offre diversi spunti per scrivere.

6.    Descriveteci il vostro art work, minimale direi….
Esatto! Per la cover di “The Dark Mechanism” abbiamo optato per un art work che fosse tanto semplice quanto diretto ed immediato, e qui il nostro grafico Alessandro Abate ha colto nel segno. Tutto ruota attorno al testo della titletrack, lo squarcio sul nero dove si intravedono gli ingranaggi si ricollega al messaggio del testo che parla di quel meccanismo oscuro ed occulto che controlla la nostra vita e di cui noi inconsapevolmente siamo delle componenti…

7.    Come mai avete optato per l’autoproduzione e non vi siete affidati a qualche etichetta discografica?
La scelta dell’autoproduzione è stata una necessità. Al momento non abbiamo ancora trovato un’etichetta che facesse al caso nostro, anche se abbiamo ricevuto qualche proposta a cui però non potevamo far fronte dal punto di vista economico. Il poter curare ogni fase dei lavori del disco comunque è stata propedeutico per noi: mentre per me è stata la seconda volta alle prese con un disco per Andrea, Christian e Sebastiano era la prima vera esperienza di registrazione multitraccia in studio ed il poter fare tutto senza pressioni ha consentito loro di superare se stessi e fare un lavoro davvero eccezionale.

8.    Come è nata la vostra collaborazione con la Music Solutions Agency?
La nostra collaborazione con Music Solutions Agency è nata in maniera molto semplice e spontanea: eravamo alla ricerca di qualcuno che ci desse il giusto supporto per farci conoscere al di fuori della realtà del savonese e nella mia fase di ricerca in rete e non, anche grazie al suggerimento di un amico, sono venuto a sapere di MSA. La cosa che mi ha colpito immediatamente è stata la pronta risposta e la disponibilità che ho trovato fin dalle prime e mail, il che è una cosa ormai rara, quando poi abbiamo visto che i loro servizi facevano al caso nostro è nata la collaborazione che dura tutt’ora.

9.    Cosa ci riserverete nell’immediato futuro, un nuovo album oppure vi concentrerete nel portare la vostra musica on stage?
Per il momento stiamo programmando qualche data di promozione del disco, l’unica confermata finora è prevista nella nostra Savona il prossimo 26 ottobre, sarà una specie di “festa” per l’uscita del disco e non mancheranno diversi amici che si uniranno a noi per eseguire qualche cover durante il concerto.
Abbiamo comunque già composto altri due brani nuovi che non vediamo l’ora di inserire in scaletta, la composizione quindi continua e valuteremo in futuro come e quando incidere il nuovo materiale.

Signs Preyer was born in Orvieto in 2006 from an idea of Eric Dust and Ghode Wielandt respectively guitar and vocals of the band: in the project are placed immediately Viktor Kaj on bass and James Mapo on drums. The band's sound takes on entirely new characteristics by inserting several crossover elements from past experiences and stoner of all components. 1. Start off by introducing yourself and what is your role in your band?

Hi everyone! My name’s Matteo and I’m the bass player and one of the composers of Chaos Plague, I also sing the backing scream and growl vocals.

2. Where does the bands name Chaos Plague come from?

It’s a name inspired by a concept of Nietzche’s philosophy: we see Chaos as a inner and unlimited force that could destroy everything, it’s pure power and only the chosen ones can bend it to create the condition to reach the upper state of existence: the Ãœbermensch. We see this kind of force as the light of reason and the intelligence, inner strength and moral rectitude, if you consider these values, nowadays, it’s a kind of disease, that kills good people in a sick society…so it’s a gift..but it’s also a Plague!

3. Tell me a little about the other members of the band? And do any of you play in other bands?

At the present moment we’ve lost 2 members for personal reasons. Nevertheless Chaos Plague is still alive and well and we’ve already started to search for new members and finish the album. Me, Davide and Stefano are the centerpiece of this band, we’ve established it and we keep on feeding it.We’re like brothers, we grew up together in life and Music. Our Music starts from one of us, mostly Davide or me, and everyone offers his contribution. They’re fine musicians and good friends! We’ve always focus all our attention on this project, we’ve many other things going on in our lives so it would be very difficult to work decently for every band. We see our band as an important passion and project, not only as a fun or relaxing activity.

4. Tell me a little about the releases you have and where they are available for purchase?

We’ve only released a demo and an EP. The first one is a really old and rough work! It’s called “Virus” and contains a bunch of old tracks, I think that it’s no longer available….I don’t have any copies of that! The other one is called “Chaos Plague” and it’s available and downloadable on our website www.chaosplague.it or you can listen to it on our Facebook page. It’s a good work, that made us proud of our music. But, obviously, we want to finish our first real album with a lot of brand new material!

5. Are you a touring band or are you a studio only band? If you are a touring band list some of your best shows so far, or if you are a studio only band explain why that is?

Let’s define the concept of “touring band”! Here in Italy it’s very difficult to bring Metal Music to the people..if the Metal type is Death it’s a challenge…if we’re talking about Prog Death well…it’s a disaster!! In our country there’s a lot of interest in dance music and discotheques and when you offer live shows, a lot of people want to see tribute and cover bands..sad but true! So we have a few shows during the year. We remember with a lot of pleasure the show at the Mozzate Metal Drone (An underground festival here in North Italy) and the show with the Italian death metal legends Faust!!!

6. Do you have any amusing stories from when you recorded your album or when you where on the road?

Well…I can guarantee that if we have a show…then…it will rain!!! We’ve done only 2 shows without a bad weather conditions (fortunately the outdoor gigs!) even when we load the music gear in the cars and the sky is perfeclty clear….when we start to unload some raindrops fall!! Very funny!! Back on the serious side we could talk about the incredible professionality of the members of Faust and the fantastic night on which we shared the stage!!! I think we’ve a lot of road to cover and many other stories to live!

7. Name some of the bands that have influenced your playing style and then name some of the bands that people think influenced you but didn’t?

Interesting question!! We’ve many personal influences, of course, and our style is generated by all of them but the main reference points are bands like Cynic, Obscura, Gordian Knot and Pestilence. Many times we’ve read names like Nevermore on our influences but I think this is the choice to include the clean vocals in our style. Obviously we’re honoured for this association and we all love Nevermore’s music but I don’t think that it is one of our first influences.

8. What are some of your all time favorite albums?

Considering the historical period and the taste of the audience I think that “Focus” is one of the most corageous and groundbreaking album of all the time! Impressive and brilliant fusion of Jazz and Death Metal…incredible and, 20 years later, still current and fresh!! Second place for “Omnivium”, by Obscura! That’s one of my favourite albums: great guitar riffing and, obviously, bass lines that I call PERFECTION (THANKS JEROEN!!!) and great production! Another LP I’ve literally, consumed is “Individual Thought Patterns” and that’s the album that made me decide to go fretless albeit I don’t aim for Steve DiGiorgio’s style, I’m more Malone and Thesseling-oriented. Looking at our country I love the last two albums by Illogicist: “The Insight Eye” and “The Unconsciousness of Living”, both of them are a great Music and I hope that Chaos Plague will produce something as good as Illogicist! Last but not least I like the first Necrophagist album a lot, “Onset of Putrefaction”, that inspired my most violent parts! I think that album is a real masterpice of technical Death Metal.

9. Name some of the all time worst or overated Metal albums in your opinion?

This is a difficult question, because someone could answer the names just read before! In my personal opinion I think that Avenged Sevenfold’s work is terrible and without any soul…the entire band is immensely overrated. I think the same about Periphery and many other bands coming from the new Djent Wave…most of them are like a difficult division exercise…nothing more..

10. Let everyone know what the band has planned for the future.

We’re intensely determined to take the band to the next level!! We’ve so much material for an album and the intention is to record it as soon as we can! We were ready to record and realize many projects when Francesco and Luca left the band, this is only a little delay, not a stop! The Meatfuckers Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Hi everyone, thanks for the interview!

The band is on the final stage to release our second album “Porn Again”. A first single has been digitally realesed name “The Filth”.  We are now looking for booking concerts to promote the new album.

2.How would you describe your musical sound?
We don’t want to invent any new subcategory nor believe we fit 100% in Black or Thrash so let’s call it simply: Metal.

3.Can you go more into details on the song lyrics you write?
All of our lyrics are about porn/sexual themes, some inspired by movies, some others by real life. We are sorry that we didn’t inlcude the lyrics in our first album, but on this new one we make sure they will be there!

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
We looked for a two words name, easy to remember and making sense to our musical and visual concept. The whole name is about people who are in carnal urge, so came up easy to us and describes very well our lyric concept and what you hear with our music.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
Honestly each concert is the most important one! We can’t be thinking on what we did or we want to do!  We give the best of ourselves on the stage, we look for connection with our audience and want them to be part of our show. We always try to give a show that people deserve, either is one person or hundreds.
Anyhow, But I’d picked two: the first show opening for Cannibal corpse because is when it started all, and now or first show at Zacatacas with Rex Lucifer on the vox and guitar.


6. Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
We are just now starting to book shows, we just had our first official “Porn again” supporting concert at Zacatecas, Mexico. If you know of any promoter interested in us, let us know!!

7. The new album came out on Music Solutions Agency, how did you get in contact with this label and how would you describe the support they have given you so far?
Just a remark,  Music Solutions Agency is our marketing and promotion agency in Europe, our label is Arsenath Records. The label is from Monterrey, Mexico and is the one that let us work in total freedom and in partnership.  In regards of MSA they liked our FB page and then we asked them what’s is needed for them to help us to promote us in Italy, and since then everyone moved smoothly, we have had several interviews, album reviews, support,  we are so happy with both of them!

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of underground metal?
Oh Man! It’s been fantastic! So far the reviews have been positive to our first album (GANGBANG from HELL), so we believe that people will like “Porn Again” even more!, Porn Again is by far fastest and heavier than Gangbang From Hell, plus we have a now great new singer: Rex Lucifer.

9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
For this new album, as said before, we are going to fastest tempo songs, so I think that going forward, we may start mixing fast and slow music, but now looking to have some melody on either the riff or the vocals,something that keeps sounding in your head even after the song is over.

10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
The bands that influenced us more are the so called “old school”: Sarcófago, Venom, Sodom, Slayer, Kreator, The Mentors, 80’s metal in general.  New ones like The haunted, Satyricon, Immortal. So far all the band members are so delightful with Ghost B.C, even that we are thinking to do a cover.

11.How would you describe your views on Satanism?
There’s always a debate about what is satanism or not, Some think of it as the total opposite of  Christianity: a red guy living in hell, others like the Church of Satan, that is to accept the fact that we are animals and therefore accept our desires and not judge them. But we are not trying to disqualify any, so we try to use both visions… having a satanic porn,hahahaha.

12.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
 Girls!  …And movies…

13.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Wait for our new album “porn Again” will be released very soon, MSA will have some news in the upcoming weeks. Keep supporting underground Metal!!  The Meatfückers will dominate u all!
