Faust Interview 10-29-2013
1. Start off by introducing yourself and what is your role in your band?
Hi everyone! My name is Aleister, guitarist, vocalist and founding member of FAUST.
2. Tell me a little about the other members of the band? And do any of you play in other bands?
I’ve played as live session guitarist in
Ancient since 2001. Emi, the bassist, also plays in Illogicist. Izio,
the other guitarist, also plays in THC.
3. Tell me a little about the releases you have and where they are available for purchase?
“From Glory To Infinity”, 2009: full
length recorded with Steve DiGiorgio on bass and Dariusz “Daray”
Brzozowski on drums. “…And finally FAUST!”, 2001: mcd. “FAUST”, 1993:

4. Tell us about some of the best tours/live performances you have had.
We are waiting for the next one; I’ll let you know.
5. Do you have any amusing stories from when you recorded your album or when you where on the road?
Everyone can have amusing stories spending
hours in studio or days on the road with the same people. It’s
important to work hard for a great result, but having fun at the same
time.
6. Name some of the bands that
have influenced your playing style and then name some of the bands that
people think influenced you but didn’t?
My influences resides in everything I used
to listen to. About Metal, few bands of the eighties and early
nineties. It happened that some “reviewers” compared us to Cannibal
Corpse, Deicide, Malevolent Creation… (???).
7. Are you working on any new material? Can we expect a new release from you in the near future?
The second album has already been written. Hope to record and release it soon.
8. What are some of your all time favorite albums?
Regarding Death Metal: “Blessed Are The Sick” of Morbid Angel, “Human” of Death, “Testimony Of The Ancients” of Pestilence.
9. Name some of the all time worst or overated Metal albums in your opinion?
There are too many bad and/or overrated albums, most of them released in this new millennium. And a lot of overrated bands too.
10. Let everyone know what the band has planned for the future.
On November the 19th FAUST will play at
the Italian date of DTA Tour, with Death and Obscura.
Then the
recordings of the new album.
