I have to be honest with you… when I first heard the band’s name I was perplexed, because their moniker couldn’t give me any indication as to the style of music these Italians have chosen to play.

Well after only a few seconds of listening to “Taste of Victory” everything became clear to me and their direction stopped being a mystery. You see JOYLESS JOKERS are a melodic death metal band that follows loyally the principles and teachings of the masters of the genre that come from Scandinavia and more particularly from Sweden. So, “Taste of Victory” is a well played powerful and very dynamic debut full length that showcases a bonded band that can deliver high energy, passionate music. Their songs obviously have the drive; prove that the band consists of skilled musicians and contains up tempo songs with heavy rhythms, sharp, catchy riffs, nice melodies and death metal growls that help make the end result sound more extreme and aggressive. As you can see JOYLESS JOKERS follow the recipe to the letter and therefore they were able to produce a really good work, ideal for live shows and for endless head banging. If you are fans of the melodic death metal genre like me, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this!
